If Snow Monkeys Were Mormon

Note:  If you are looking for a deeply profound, or spiritually uplifting post today, all I can say is “I’m sorry.” Instead, you get monkeys.

Monkey on the head
What can I say – they crack me up.

I am the first to admit that I can be a little weird. This is one of those occasions.  The other day, someone referenced an old picture that I drag out once-in-a-while when I feel it is needed.  This was one of those weeks.  Here is the picture:

Ironic Judgment
Get it? Right. The monkeys are cute, and the message is mildly profound.

This caused me to go looking at other pictures of snow monkeys – also known as the Japanese Macaque. The are cool looking, and live in snow country in Japan.

As I looked at the pictures, and saw how there little societies work, I asked myself this – I wonder what snow monkeys would be like if they were Mormon.  From that point, I got a little bit crazy….

Enjoy:  (Oh, and if you want to use any of these, I would appreciate it if you would credit me, and mention the blog. Thanks.)

  1. MMM-
You are inspired!! My boy is at this moment serving his mission in Ueda Japan, the actual location of the snow monkeys in the pictures! Just last week he drop-boxed us pictures from his P-day visit to the monkeys. While the LDS Branch there is small because the monkeys don’t actually attend, I will send these pics to my boy and you will be guaranteed international success as you go viral.

And I still don’t understand why we have snow in Utah but no monkeys.

  2. I worry about anon wanting to “know you”. sounds a little creepy if I’m being honest.

Love that last one. I could be perfect in fasting if fasting allowed for diet coke

  3. My husband is laughing so hard I’m worried:-). What a great post. YOU are funny and I still want to “know” you!

  4. As a Sunbeam teacher – thought the one with the goldfish crackers was absolutely hilarious! But all of them are great!

  5. Really quite funny. The Sunday School presidency one is my favorite too! Happy Sunday!

  6. Hey this would make a great book. Could you do it in time for Christmas? I loved it!

  7. I should have waited until after church to read this.
Now I’m going to be figuring out which member is what monkey.

  8. Despite my aversion to monkeys in general, I got a good chuckle out of today’s post. (The pew one was hilarious!)

  9. Spot on! Thanks for putting into “monkey” what a lot of us think on a daily basis.

Add your 2¢. (Be nice.)
