Last Wednesday I posted that the MoTab doesn’t do it for me. It looks like I’m not alone. (Wednesday Post)
But, today as I am enjoying my Sabbath, I am feeling bad that I “dissed” the choir. There are times and songs that the Choir performs that really touch my soul. In particular, there was a song performed at the April General Conference some years back that instantly became my all-time favorite Tabernacle Choir song. Ever. Even better than “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.”
The song is “The Iron Rod”, but the familiar lyrics are set to another melody. The tune is adapted from Gustav Holst’s symphony “The Planets”.
Listen at least once:
Remember, there is no dancing, or any cool explosions, and very limited special effects. Just people singing.
Turn it up!
