It was brought to my attention that yesterday’s post was a wee bit critical. So, I guess I had better reassure you that I do have a gigantic, soft, charitable heart.
So today’s post will be a list of things that I love. I will include more than the number of items that I did yesterday. So I will be known as “net positive”. It does not include people’s names, because there are like 6.8 billion people, and I love everyone. (Except for my previously confessed Rachel Ray issue) You understand the conundrum.
I love:
• BYU
• Yelp!
• Date night
• Key lime pie
• Pixar movies
• The Amazing Race
• Knott’s Berry Farm
• Speaking in church
• General Conference
• Really old cemeteries
• Working in my garden
• Movie theater popcorn
• Frampton Comes Alive
• Father & Son’s outings
• Swimming in the ocean
• Cherry gelato in Florence
• The Dave Matthews Band
• Rotten Tomatoes website
• TripAdvisor travel website
• Letters from my missionary
• Apple computers and gadgets
• American Express Reward Points
• Still beating my boys at basketball
• Mozart Symphonie Concertante K. 364
• Listening to my daughter play the piano
• Obama’s and Congress’ approval ratings
• That I can see really, really well in the dark
• Having had the opportunity to be a bishop
• Watching the sunrise over the Indian Ocean
• When the baby back ribs caramelize perfectly
• Watching my 9-year-old’s face when he prays
• My EC’s carrot cake. She’s ruined anyone else’s
• Performing baptisms for the dead as the baptizer
• The goodness that is the Cheesy Gordita Crunch
• When my blog readers sign up as “Followers”. (Yes, you!)
• Getting the soy sauce/wasabi ratio just right when eating sushi
• Mountain Dew (although I no longer partake in its sublimeness)
• Having a bank that will call me before they would bounce a check
• Sitting and watching the random photo slideshow on my EC’s computer
• That I passed the point where I have been married for more than half my life
• When my EC’s eyebrow raises involuntary when she is asking me for something
• How my 18-year-old cringes when people laugh hysterically at jokes by Church leaders that aren’t very funny
• The freedom to buy my kid a Happy Meal if I feel like it, and have a toy inside even if he wants to eat french fries
Yes, they are all rather small things, but they are the tip of a huge iceberg of wonderfulness that is my life.
The big things that I love deserve more individual attention, or no public attention at all.
I am blessed.

I like how you wrote your list out from shortest sentence to longest….kind of like the Quran is written. Hmm….what does MMM stand for again?
Or, that could be just my sleep deprived mind….mom and baby are home now. A great blessing! However, I had to appear in court early this morning (as a lawyer, not a defendant) and didn’t have time to take a shower AND get the kids off to school. Mom shouldn’t be climbing stairs quite yet, so we let them take the day off to stay home and get acquainted with their new sister.
Nice list!
Don’t worry about how people thought yesterday’s post was too negative.. they must remember that not all people like the same things, especially everything. Opposition in ALL things! Must dislike somethings to really enjoy those things that you do like.
You are blessed!
Great list! Some of mine would be:
Late nights with friends
My kids’ giggles
The fact that my family seems to all fight for my attention and affection (although it irritates me cuz I want to be alone with my Diet Coke)
Diet Coke
When I wake up late on a Saturday morning and my husband has cleaned the kitchen.
When my husband and I get to really talk.
