Saturday Conference: First Thoughts

What a great day!  Kind souls gave us tickets, and we were able to attend the afternoon and Priesthood sessions today. I am not going to post anything of significance until Conference is over, and I have had a few days to process things.  But as I mentioned in my previous post here, one of the things I do during Conference is take note of things I need to do – and formulate a “Post Conference To-Do-List”.
It can be difficult to decide what things should go on that list, and it takes time to really dig in an make those decisions. I have found that often I get caught up in the excitement of Conference, and put things on my list that really don’t belong.  For example – here are some items from today’s sessions that I decided against: (If you didn’t watch Conference Saturday, you probably won’t understand a lot of these)
1) Have 5 more kids. (Check with EC first)
2) Start deleting references to me in the “Chronicles of Human History”.
3) Cancel Rescue-Party planning meeting.
4) Begin looking for deceased ancestors on Facebook.
5) Write a “thank-you note” to Elder Perry for not mentioning me by name when extolling the positive uses of the internet. (Embarrasssing)
6) Stop development of MMM video game.
7) Delete Angry Birds
Hope you had a great day on the 4th Quarter Comeback.  I did!

  1. From now on whenever I am on the internet I’ll say, don’t bother me I’m Family Historying..Did I mention I am our family history consultant? I’m totally awesome at it, too!

  2. Man. I just got done with my conferencing. I actually decided I’d like to add two more children to the mix. I suppose I should ask my EC about that one, huh?

Did someone in the priesthood session discourage the having of more offspring? I didn’t get to watch that one… for obvious reasons… 🙂

  3. Another great post and of course another great Saturday spent watching conference! You are making me even more sad I missed Elder Perry’s talk!!! Back on the East coast there is a lot of gnashing of teeth if dinner isn’t ready when 6 o’clock rolls around. I’ll have to go back and check it out. 🙂

  4. Ha! Way too funny, MMM. I think my husband has a list that starts off pretty much like yours. After that talk, he was like, how about a couple more?

Did I mention he is 51?

  5. Just got done watching Priesthood session online after attending the game. Funny thing, we parked by a stake center and as we were walking back to the car we were passing them. They all wanted to know the score and I just shook my head and said, “you guys made the right decision”.

Anyway, laughed out loud at #7. And #1 actually. I would also add “Start the application process for a temple to be built in Murray, Utah before a THIRD one is built in Provo.”

Add your 2¢. (Be nice.)
