NOTE: My tiny blog had its 500,000th visit today. I am amazed and grateful. Half a million? Thanks to all of you.
• Right before Conference started, I realized that I didn’t have any Conference-appropriate snacks or beverages in the pantry. I sat there for two hours concerned that someone would give a talk about being prepared, and I would just feel stupid. Never again.
• The age change for missionaries is truly inspired and wonderful. An unintended benefit will be that there is now a loophole in the policy against holding Open Houses for departing missionaries. Now you can just have an Eagle Court Open House. (wink wink)
• They should put a BSA Eagle Packet drop box in the MTC drive though.
• The current Elders serving in the field are going to come back and wonder where all the girls went.
• I was going to write something about Elder Cook’s comments on apathy, but I’ll get to it later.
• If you ever wanted to get into BYU, but were turned down, next year might be the time to try again.
• Yet another session where I was not quoted. I don’t understand.
• I’m glad Elder Cook said that parents must have the courage to say “No.” Up until then, my kids thought I had invented it.
• I went back and read a lot of tweets about Sister Dibb’s comment about being distracted. I love irony.
• Every missionary in the world flinched when Elder Nelson instructed the world to ask the missionaries. Not because the missionaries are worried about non-members asking questions, but that the members will.
• That great quote cited by President Uchtdorf is from “The Little Prince.”
Loved this, and your other snarky and non- comments on Conference. (I’ve been blogging for 6+ years and have about a tithe of your blog visits.)
And to those returning missionaries I say: Here am I! Pick me! Ha.

Good catch with The Little Prince reference. It’s one of my favorite books!
I am not even a missionary anymore and I cringed at Elder Nelson told people to ask missionaries about family history. I know its in Preach My Gospel as a way to find, but I didn’t (and still don’t) know how to find anything on family search.
I cannot thank you enough for the laughs you have brought to me and my sister and our friend today. So very much needed.
Interesting about the missionaries, my boy calculated that (he turned 18 2 weeks ago) he can turn papers in FEB 3 (sigh)
whether or not you write about apathy, I just don’t care.
You are so wise…why aren’t you being quoted more??
Hold the phone…he has a Facebook account?!?! Time to stalk…er…research..
They all seemed a little worn out today. Even Elder Nelson, with his enthusiasm, looked tired. After seeing him hop up on a three foot tall bookcase to grab his dissertation for me to read, maybe I expect to much??? Great start to a great conferance!!!

Ha! I don’t know how the subsequent sessions can get any better than the morning one. Truly wonderful!
Did President Uchtdorf look a little tan-until-orange to anyone else? Must be all those bike rides.
Here I am, following Pres. Uctdorf’s counsel of spending more undivided time with loved ones instead of being on facebook, etc. oooops Time to repent.
President Uchtdorf is a yogi disguised in a suit.
