I stopped by two wedding receptions for some wonderful newlyweds last night. At both places, I was asked the same (surprising) question by two different people.
“What’s with the blog? You haven’t posted anything all week.”
A third person expressed concern: “I haven’t seen you much online – is everything OK?”
It is true. The last post was Sunday (Mother’s Day), and I haven’t written since. Not only that, I completely bailed on Sunday Night Check-in on Facebook last week as well. (First time in forever.)
The answer to the question is this: I am fine. Things are good. Life is spilling over the brim with good things. For example:
On Thursday, my awesome niece, Diana, married an awesome guy in the Gilbert Temple, which precipitated a homecoming. Daughter Emily came home from Utah, son Alex came home from college for the summer. Everyone was back together again – and that is where the heart and the attention go.
In addition, it is the end of yet another school year. Orchestra concert, NJHS induction, etc. Oh, and a choir concert on Wednesday. It was determined that we have had a kid in the High School choir since 2002. That is 13 years!
Work is busy, like going-in-on-Saturday-just-to-keep-up kind of busy, which is great. Church is busy, which is great. It rained like crazy last night, which is great. So much rain that I didn’t do any yard work today, which is great. (Are you noticing my over-use of the word “great” today?)
So many great things to take my time and attention this past week – as well as a few that I can’t tell you about just yet…
That said, I have to admit that I do miss the interaction with you guys when I am not posting on my blog, or playing around on Social Media.
So do not fear – I’m not going anywhere. I am not running out of stuff to say. I am not suffering from “Writer’s Block” (Whatever that is.) Besides, I have written 942 posts – what kind of idiot would stop now – before the Big 1000?
Life is good, and when the whole family is around, it is great. My kids are all nuts, but entertaining. Normal life will return quickly enough, and the cacophony will be missed.
Did I mention that this is merely a “lull?” It all resumed tomorrow with church meetings, ordinance, airport runs, etc.
Then next week we have baccalaureate, graduation, Golden Scholar, graduation, etc.
and… a pair of U2 concerts next weekend. It is good to be me.
Have a great weekend. Yes, there will be a Sunday post, AND Sunday Night Check-in over on Facebook. If I get to it…
Hugs and Kisses,
MMM

You have been focusing on and enjoying the things that are most important, well done. I actually think it’s good to take a break from FB and blogging and it’s a very good idea to keep us wondering why you are ignoring us, hungry for your posts and not taking you for granted. That last part is kind of kiss up isn’t it?
Offering hugs and kisses is most definitely a kiss up.
I’m going to u2 as well (in CA) tomorrow! My husband’s first time—can’t wait!
Enjoy the lull. Hugs and kisses? Really? Right back atcha!
U2…just a tiny bit jealous.
