And So It Begins…

I can’t wait until Sunday. Not that I can’t wait, I can. But I can’t wait until Sunday. Does that make sense? I’m not saying that I’m not excited about Sunday – because I am – I am saying that there is too much to do before Sunday, and I need to start now. So please don’t question my enthusiasm. This is more about logistics.

*sigh*

Let me try again.  In case you have never visited my blog before, or have short-term memory issues, Sunday is The 2nd Annual International Hug a Convert Day. (Link here.)
The response has been so wonderful that I can’t wait until Sunday to inundate you with all of the conversion stories on one day. Instead, I am going to inundate you with conversion stories every day from now until Sunday. Starting today.

You may scoff at the “International” part of the title, but please know that I received wonderful conversion stories from as far away as Canada.  (OK, that was a joke.  How about Budapest? That’s not a joke.)

Over the past two weeks, I have been receiving wonderful stories and testimonies of people who have left their past lives, and begun anew as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It has been humbling, and inspiring to have the privilege of reading each one of them. It has renewed my sense of awe and admiration for anyone who has taken that leap of faith.

Quick notes:

• Some of you are going to get crazy notifications the next six days.  I would apologize, but I guarantee that it will be much better than most of the other stuff you will be getting.

• If you have a blog, and have a button for the event, please change it out for the new version that will take readers to the most recent post on the homepage. And thanks for spreading the word.

• Doug, my Facebook Shoulder Angel? Seriously?  Who knew!

• I will be monitoring comments. These stories are very personal, and many of the writers are a bit nervous. If anyone submits a comment that is critical, or unkind, or that deals with spelling or grammar, I will not publish it. But I will remember who sent it.

• Thanks to all those willing to share. It is good for all of us. “A testimony is found in the bearing of it.”  Boyd K. Packer.

Enjoy!

  1. Thank you so much for sharing all of the convert stories.

Although I have been blogging about my journey to the church, I haven’t yet sat down and written the entire journey out. Perhaps by next year?

I am feeling wonderfully blessed to have found the church and celebrating 3 months since my baptism on 23 June 🙂

Have a blessed one! His Holy Love and Lighte to you and your family.

  2. MMM, thank you for this inspired series. It’s been a great reminder for me that there are people searching for truth in unexpected places, and I want to be a better member missionary because of it.

Add your 2¢. (Be nice.)
