What a great session of Conference! So much to think about. So much gratitude in my heart!
My longtime readers will know that it takes me a few days to digest and think about what I learn each session. Because of this, I usually don’t post any comments until later in the week.
In the meantime, I do have a few notes from this session that do not remotely qualify as “Spiritual.” I can share those with you now:
1) They must be lifting age restrictions for being in the Tabernacle Choir – every single Conference, they are getting younger, and younger.
2) I am convinced that Satan really, really hates Boyd K. Packer. If the adversary has a game room, I’ll bet there is a well-used dartboard with President Packer’s picture on it.
3) It looks like there are 600 buttons on the Conference Center organ. But it always sounds exactly the same to me.
4) Now I am very concerned about what our carpet installers may have written on the underside of our living room carpet before installation.
5) Sister Dalton is surely the epitome of sad, angry repression. not.
6) I must be getting more spiritual, because I didn’t covet any of the brethren’s ties this session.
7) I’m sure there are lots of people who are thrilled that a sister gave the benediction today. (I just hope they left their pants on until they got home.)
8) Standing by my idea that a “Kiss Cam” would be awesome before the meeting starts, or even during the rest hymn.
9) Gonna be much more careful from now on when I trim the ivy.
10) Took a few minutes and read back through the Conference threads on Twitter. Absolutely reinforced my personal viewpoint that I expressed earlier in the week. (here)
Time for some Taco Bell, and a big soda before Round 2. This is awesome!
Out of the three sessions so far Saturday AM has been my favorite. Awesome talks and I definetly felt the Spirit.

No. 3 – I just finished hearing the choir sing “Where love is” during the Sunday Morning session. I immediately thought about this post of yours and couldn’t resist coming back here to mention that you couldn’t possibly have thought the organ sounded just the same on THAT one! lol. ; )
Happy conference.
#5 = my favorite! I’m note sure if it’s my favorite because I so love your sense of sarcasm, or because she is the most incredible lady! I was sad about her release today, but so glad to have had so many chances to hear her speak!
#8 = ? I think I must have missed that post. What is a Kiss Cam?
And while I didn’t take time to comment on your post about not Tweeting to insanity during conference, I was all too happy to just zero in on learning and helping my kids learn. Twitter will be there on Monday, if I tweet this weekend or not. 😉
Here in China we have to either get up in the middle of the night to watch conference, or wait until it comes online. So I didn’t know about the woman giving the closing prayer. So what was the big deal with that? I’ve been in callings that required me to sit in Priesthood council meetings. I’ve been asked my opinion. I’ve been treated extremely respectfully. In fact, the men always would rise when I entered the room. I felt my opinion was always taken in to great consideration. I just don’t get how women feel they have been slighted in some way because women hadn’t given a prayer in conference. I haven’t just been treated equally, I’ve been treated BETTER! And frankly, after working with the Bishop, and seeing all that he has to do, and having plenty of my own work to do in the church, I sure hope women never get the Priesthood….
What’s a kiss cam?
#7 was my favorite!
Funny comments. Definitely enjoyed them!
Sorry-still no to kiss cam…
Everything else is great, love to hear our leaders speak! I will now open a Dr Pepper to prepare for round#2.
A triple amen to #2!!! Love his talks!
#10 I had over 20 posts about the Cedar City Temple within 30 seconds on Facebook. I thought of your blog post the other day and put my phone in another room so I wouldn’t be distracted by that stuff.

Phew! I’m glad Elder Ballard used a tomato analogy. . . I can’t imagine millions and millions of zucchini being passed around!
I am sad each time I see Pres Packer, and he is weaker and weaker. 🙁 He has been my favorite since I was a kid, and I have patiently watched him move further up the conference table. I am sad that it looks like he will never be prophet. I will probably be struck down for that comment… Hope fully right before the next session starts so I don’t feel the need to get out of bed and check on kids…
I love all 10 points and wanted to comment, but the last unnumbered point was the best. It has motivated me to move….. out the door for some fast food.
Love your #5. Couldn’t agree more with your 1980’s-esque sarcasm.
Love all 10 points, but the closing, unnumbered point is the best. I’m on my way for food!
Loving, loving, loving #2 and slightly amused by #4 and wondering how long it will take you to tear up your carpet and look.
