Madonna on a School NIght

It is not often in this life that I am rendered speechless…

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Many Madonna fans are wondering if the “Material Girl” owns a watch after she took the stage late in Philadelphia Tuesday evening.
Some concert-goers were so frustrated that they left the Wells Fargo Center before the show even began.
The concert was scheduled to start at 8 p.m., but Madonna did not take the stage until about 10:30 p.m. Making matters worse for fans was the fact that the opening act was simply a DJ spinning some tunes.
Madonna fan Jen Gililand told Eyewitness News she paid good money to bring her 10-year-old to the show, but she had to leave before it started because of Madonna’s tardiness.
“It’s 10:15 … it’s time to go,” Gililand said.

  1. Lord, please bless me with charity, and bless me not to judge others…
But may I still be permitted to shake my head in disbelief at the decision to take ones 10-year-old to see Madonna.
    Serious face-palm…:-/

  2. Remember the infant that was shot at the Batman premiere – the 4 month old baby. Oh and the 6 year old kid who was injured. And that was a midnight premiere. This is mild compared to that, right? At least the mom got her kid to bed at a decent hour……………

  3. This reminds me of someone I know who took her 6 year old to see Katy Perry’s movie. “Because its only rated PG, like Brave.” Yes, I’m entirely sure the content was a appropriate as Brave.

  4. Haha, I was thinking the same thing when I read the article the other day. I also want to know WHO in the heck would wait two and a half hours for a concert. They would have to be pretty dang legendary for me to stick it out that long. And seriously, how legendary can they be if they don’t care about their fans?

  5. I loved Madonna when she first started out – but it has been a severe downhill, desperate, clawing fall since then. Look at Lourdes – she looks old and Madonna looks like she has been preserved _ like those skinned bodies dipped in plastic. I am sad for the little girl – assuming she was looking forward to this, but even sadder for a Mom who thought this was a cool thing to do with a 10 year old.

  6. LOL!!! Okay for your kid to see the Material Girl live and uncensored as long as they’re in bed on time. Oh the priorities. At least it wasn’t on family night.

  7. Not trying to be snarky (well, maybe a little) but I am having a hard time grasping why anyone would take a 10 year old to a Madonna concert at all, let alone one that wasn’t supposed to start til 8, or for sure why said parent would hang around til10:15.

  8. I had a student’s mom two years ago (now remember, I teach FIRST grade) tell me her daughter was going to be late the next day because she would be going to Bon Jovi.
