Round 2 was much closer than Round 1. The Simon Dewey (G) painting received a plurality of the votes, but both the Henrich Hoffman (F) and Del Parsons (H) polled at close to 20%.
Round 3 (This is a much more “manly” assortment.)
• This is about what you think Christ looked like in His mortal ministry.
• One vote per person.
• You can vote in each round.
This is a great survey. I am partial to a couple of paintings one being “Christ and the Children” by Frances Hook. I have the print hanging in my kitchen and all my grand kids know who this is. The other is a pencil drawing by Jared J Barnes entitled “Sketch of Christ”

I’m thinking P looks a little like Wolverine. Not necessarily the actor who plays Wolverine most recently… but I’m thinking Wolverine.
The comments about P being Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow, and Kenny Loggins crack me up!
I am not a fan of any of these, so I am going to have to go with None of the Above and not vote.
this is a hard round…
N
Somehow I missed round two. None of these work for me.
I’m going to go with M
L looks like it could be a different-angled photo of Round 1’s winner, so I’m going for L. Although I promise NOT to be disappointed if, when we meet, he looks nothing like Jim Caviezel. BTW, he (Caviezel) said he was born to play Jesus in Passion of the Christ and after he completed it said that if he never worked as an actor again, his work here had been accomplished. Interesting comment and belief…
I think the world of you, MMM. Thanks.
met not meet
i voted for P because i read “Heaven is for Real”and at the end this portrait is shown. A little girl who also had a near-death/heavenly experience painted it afterwards. When the little boot in the book saw it he said that is exactly what Christ looked like when he meet Him.
Gosh, I’m not really a fan of any of these. I guess M.
This IS hard! P looks like it should be Peter rather than Jesus. I like a really divine looking Jesus, one who looks like He could be the Son of God. None of these seem to fit but I will vote for L because He looks a little more traditional.
P made me think of Barry Manilow, too. “Mandy” and “Copacabana,” yes. Jesus, no. And O is too handsome (in an Aragorn sort of way). Isaiah said Jesus wasn’t comely. And yet, He must be. I have the feeling when we meet Him, He’ll be wearing a suit and tie and have short hair. I don’t know how I will react to that. I have definitely been conditioned by artists’ depictions of Him. Thought-provoking exercise.
Ok, so here’s my “rationale.” L reminds me of some of those sad clown paintings, O has what appears to be a bit of an underbite going on, which makes him look like his jaw is set in defiance. Not a Christ-like quality, P has feathered hair. I’m pretty sure they didn’t know about the 80’s back then, or they (the 80’s) never would have happened. M &N are probably my “favorites” for this round, and I’m picking M because N looks a bit raggedy.
My wife submitted O, so I guess I’ll vote for that one, even though I thought it was John the Baptist the first time I saw it. I saw a little video about the young girl who painted P, and she’s very impressive.
This is fun, and difficult at the same time. I wanted to point out that the artist of H is Del Parson. Without the added “s” on the end. I know, a bit picky of me. Just thought you might like to know.
Thank you Sister Parson, I went back and corrected it.
Hahaha. I am not Sister Parson, but they do live here and I took a college class from him forever ago.
P was done by a little girl. There is a book out about a little boy who had a near death experience… when he saw P he said “that’s him!”
I was actually thinking P… I’ve heard stories like that before but not with this pic.
Hmm….there is some big message behind all of this, and I’m really wondering what it’s going to be.
Probably not…
I’ve never seen some of these. “P” makes me think of Rod Stewart. Perhaps the artist was a die hard fan? 😉
Can’t tell if he had his hair frosted.
P looks too much like Kenny Loggins for me to vote for.
I’m not liking any of these, somehow I missed round 2. For some reaszon P reminds me of Barry Manilow and O looks like wrestler, L he’s just too concerned and worried looking, N too young…So I guess that leaves M. I’m voting for M.
I agree, jeanine!
I think this is the hardest round yet!
