As you know by now, every once in a while we hit the Dollar Store – often for candy, occasionally for inspiration. I have documented those rare moments in previous posts, here, here, and here. And yes, I am mildly embarrassed that I have now written four posts inspired by the Dollar Store. (But they were all kinda funny, right?)
Here’s what I found this time:
A prayer book about how to be a good Christian. Awesome! Not only that, it includes a CD with sing-along songs. For a buck! Thankfully, there were no labels on it saying, “Not appropriate for Mormons.”
But that isn’t what drew me to this book. It was the awesome picture of Jesus. It is the happiest rendition of the Savior that I have ever seen. I like that he is hanging out with the kids. I also like the glow and the wind-blown hair look.
Anyway, all this is leading up to a post…Sunday.
Sorry to tease, but I just wanted you to get a glimpse of my creative process. You have now seen the genesis of the thought that will become Sunday’s post. Until then, enjoy your weekend!

Your dollar store is so much more righteous than mine.
The reason that He looks so joyous is because He is with children. Picture Him with…Congress or in Syria or in a casino.
That is why I want to save up to buy a print of Liz Lemon Swindle’s Come and See. The apostles are smiling and laughing together-they look happy. It reminds me that serving the Lord brings joy. It reminds me of the cheerfulness and good humor of my own bishopric. 🙂
You have now made me want to visit the dollar store.
I wish our Dollar Store carried cool stuff like that!! : )
I love the depiction of Jesus!
